BACKGROUND
While there were thirty five vintage wedding dresses to choose from for the exhibition at Highwic, not all of them could make it in. Here's is a selection that were unable to be displayed but are still gorgeous and available for purchase. Many of these have flaws which are noted in the text and on the images.

We were also very lucky to be gifted several wedding dresses from members of the public who wanted the money raised from the sale to go to our very deserving charity, The Aunties. We graciously thank our donators!

    Silk wedding dress, 1980s
    New Zealand
     
    Beautiful silk crepe wedding dress with fabulous details. Miniature ruffles and pin tuck stitching trims the neck, bodice, hips, cuffs and front panel. Silk organza front and back yoke, and twenty six rouleau and buttons run up the back. Very faint age marks on parts of the dress. 

    This dress was kindly gifted by Helen and all the proceeds of this sale will go to The Aunties!

    Classic 1950s style full gathered waist dress made with beautiful heavy cream jacquard satin and a metal zip. Removable bow that can be used multiple ways! Small stain at neckline.

    Tulle lace wedding dress, 1950s
    New Zealand
     
    Classic 1950s style full skirt dress with multiple layers of tulle and appliqued lace making up the skirt, tulle fitted bodice with lace applique decorating the neckline all lined with heavy satin. A modern zip has been added in at a later date and there are several repairs to the tulle.

    Jacquard satin wedding dress, 1940s with 1960s additions

    Beautiful satin long length dress with orchid jacquard print in the fabric. Metal zip and gathered full skirt detail at the back give a 1940s feeling but the fabulous beaded detail at the front is pure 1960s go-go girl!
    There are some small frays at the armpit which could be removed if the armhole hem was taken in,

    Beautiful duchess satin long length dress with full train. Full lace bodice lined in satin, front of skirt has a satin base with lace panels while the back of the skirt and train is plain duchess satin. The back waist has a very sweet bow in the centre with a metal zip.

    Gorgeous simple brocade dress with a fern pattern through the heavy synthetic fabric. Shawl neckline detail with self covered button detail and piped sweetheart waist.

    Velvet applique tulle wedding dress, 1940s
    New Zealand
    Incredible medieval inspired wedding dress with tulle sleeves, bodice and skirt. Velvet and metallic floral applique on bodice and sweet scalloped waist detail. This dress still has some wedding confetti caught in a seam - so charming!
    NB: there are numerous holes in the tulle bodice.

    Lovely classic 1940s wedding dress with shirred bodice, long sleeves and wonderful full train. Fabric is brocade with a floral motif woven into the design and there is rouleau detailing around the edges of the gown.
    NB: there are several holes in the train
