MAINSTREET WHANGANUI'S VINTAGE COSTUME COMPETITION

Whanganui dusted off its vintage gowns, unboxed its retro suits and got out the sewing machine to whip up fashions inspired by the past for the 2020 Mainstreet Whanganui Vintage Costume Competition during the Whanganui Vintage Weekend.

The categories were:
Old School Child Cool
River Side Chic
Roaring Twenties
Heritage Handmade
Steam Heat
Crowd Favourite

Our wonderful judges Kerry Trent Ranginui, Trillian and Dahlia Dangerous had a tough time choosing a winner from the record breaking number of entrants!

Thank you also to everyone who was brave enough to enter and take a turn on the catwalk, to everyone who came along to support the competition, to our judges and of course to Mainstreet Whanganui for having us along to host this event. We love encouraging people to get dressed in their best and have the courage to share this with an audience - style never goes out of fashion!
