Our Creative Director, Rose Jackson, recently visited Voodoo Molly to find out how to use the amazing chalk paint powder that every reader receives for free on page 41 of the Home Issue. In this post she shares her experience.
I have long considered myself a #diyfail but, having just spent time with Voodoo Molly at their Open Night I have transformed into a #diydream! With some generous and very knowledgeable assistance, I was able to quickly and easily remedy my previous botched attempt at painting an inherited mirror. I think it would be fair to say that my first attempt would have made my expert crafting, haberdashery store owning, night class teaching Grandma regret leaving it to me! Glory Days started chatting to Antonia from Voodoo Molly last year and we found the perfect project to collaborate on when we were planning The Home Issue The magazine was crying out for a DIY-based giveaway and we thought you, our readers, particularly those interested in doing it for themselves, would benefit from an introduction to Voodoo Molly. Antonia agreed and generously gave us enough samples of her chalk paint powder to include in every magazine. And because the story behind Voodoo Molly is such an interesting one we are going to devote a future Telegram to an in-depth interview with Antonia so you can share in her vision for a more empowered generation of do it yourselfers.. But right now we wanted to show you how easy it is to use your free sample to creatively wrap up the school holidays (for those with little ones), or fill your weekend (for those without) working on a bit of DIY. Like me, you can conquer those DIY demons and help transform something drab into something fab! Check out the Voodoo Molly Chalk Paint Makeover 101 video below...
We would love to see your before and after photos using your Voodoo Molly chalk paint powder giveaway! Head over to our Facebook page and share your #diydream projects now. To get you started here is my after - I am positive Grandma would now be proud!
Thanks Antonia and thanks Voodoo Molly!
