CELEBRATING SECONDHAND

Fast fashion and cut price manufacturing is putting increasing pressure on people and the planet that's unsustainable. Over 100 billion new garments are made every year, many of which are thrown away after one or two wears, landfills are overflowing with cheaply made goods and the impact that over production is having on the environment is devastating,

One way to take a stand and help stem the flow of overproduction is to shop secondhand! During #secondhandseptember Oxfam challenges people to only buy secondhand for 30 days or more. Not only will you be contributing to the circular economy and preventing goods going to landfill, but you'll also be supporting small businesses and charities that directly benefit from each and every item you purchase.

Throughout September we'll be sharing a ton of tips from the experts that we will be featuring in our next guide on collecting secondhand for fun and profit, caring for your pre-loved treasures, what to look out for when buying secondhand and their favourite vintage pieces.

We're so grateful to all the amazing businesses who are taking part in our #secondhandseptember celebration. Please click below to hear their stories, follow them online and #supportlocal by shopping at these stores if you need something for your wardrobe or your home.
